Biography
Brendan W. Smith is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA. He teaches Senior Capstone Design and courses in Control Theory and Biomedical Engineering. He also directs the Rehabilitation, Assistive Tech & Human Control Theory (REACT) Laboratory where he leads several ongoing projects that include undergraduate and graduate students. Dr. Smith graduated with a B.S. in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College in 2011, then graduated with a M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Irvine in 2017. He joined the LMU community in 2017 as an Assistant Professor and is always on the lookout for students who are motivated and eager to apply their engineering skillset to urgent clinical needs around the globe.
